The past year has not been the best for Volkswagen, a company that revolutionized a motor-vehicle industry. Involvement in the cheating of emission tests and various issues have put the company under intensive pressure from authorities. Now, however, the company seems to be working on its way back to the epitome. According to some sources, Volkswagen is now working on a Tesla competitor car that would be priced at a range of $23,000. As you can guess from the name Tesla Competitor, the vehicle will be electric and will be targeting the US along with other markets.
As of now, there are not many competitors to Tesla Model 3, considered one of the most economical electric modular vehicle in the market. However, it should be noted that the Elon Musk company has not been able to meet the delivery deadlines, due to production and logistic difficulties. Considering that Volkswagen has enough infrastructure and production capabilities, the production rate of the Tesla competitor will be high enough to surpass Tesla Model 3. Volkswagen will be renovating and converting three factories across the globe to boost the production of this said vehicle.
Specific details about the Tesla competitor vehicle are not available as of now, but it is clear that Volkswagen will be checking all the required fields before launching such an important player in the market. It is also not clear when the company is planning to launch the vehicle, although some sources have mentioned that it will be happening only by the end of 2019 or in 2020. By then, however, Tesla should be able to come up with an even affordable model — the Tesla Model Y. As of now, the VW vehicle is priced $12000 less than the Tesla Model 3, making the former a better option for commons.
