Tech industry is the major backbone of our country’s economy, and since everyone’s working from home, some tech companies are trying to implement this system for a further period. A recent observation made on some tech companies shows us that they are trying to extend the work from the situation for an additional extended period. Facebook recently confirmed they will not be opening their offices by the end of July 6, and that means their employees are told to work from home for a further period. Facebook confirmed that they said those employees who can work from home to continue till the fall or end of the year.
This announcement lets us know that tech companies don’t want to take any risk when it involves health concerns of their employees. Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai in a recent meeting, also said a similar thing. He mentioned how Google employees would be working remotely through the rest of this year. Earlier, Google notified that their employees would be working from home till the end of July 1. Zillow, which is an online real estate company, also notified its employees to adapt to the remotely working system for a further period.
Things are changing from a tech company’s perspective because they want to continue this system for a more extended period. Remote working in a tech company is working fine since they do not have to be physically present. These tech companies, which were spending millions of dollars on the campus in the form of parking, free food stalls, etc. are now saving that money. However, this does not mean it will be a forever thing since tech companies have decided on adapting work from home methods just for the safety of employees. Microsoft has also let their employees work from home till October, and many companies will be making further announcements soon.
