The Advisor of Digital Transformation in Saudi Arabia Dr. Ahmed Balkhair has said that digital growth has become important for the health system all over the world. He has said that a global alliance to enhance digital maturity in the Middle East is quite crucial. Since the COVID19 has hit the world, digital maturity has become a priority in the healthcare system. It can improve clinical and financial effects and build resilience during times of crisis. Dr. Balkhair is in charge of setting a digital transformation blueprint under the Kingdome’s 2030 vision. He has said that all nations go through the same journey while building standards and policies, which are required to reach the target of health records to build a national health observatory, analytics, and telemedicine services.

Dr. Balkhair has said that in the absence of the digital revolution, the health system will not be able to deliver the benefits of precision medicine. He has been joined by the director of SCAN Health Dr. Anne Snowdon at the HIMSS Middle East Digital Health Conference. DR. Snowdon has said that the COVID19 pandemic has shown the need for digital connectivity. Experts have said that it is hard to imagine data and outcomes flowing from Italy Spain and England to America, Korea, and Taiwan in the absence of digital connectivity. They have said that it is crucial to create a global learning atmosphere, which can achieve value for all health systems, learning from each other’s context, and the vast variety of data. It will allow a direct link with the global citizens as well. Dr. Balkhair has said that it is vital for Saudi Arabia to learn from other nations to gain greater digital maturity.

Dr. Balkhair has said that the Global Digital Health Partnership gives the country a fair opportunity to share, learn, collaborate, and exchange useful data to build a well-connected healthcare system across borders and worldwide. Dr. Don Rucker, who is the leader of the Interoperability Work Stream for the Global Digital Health Alliance has said that the alliance works like a policy-making tool. Dr. Snowman has said digital change can be tested using a digital health indicator (DHI). It tests the growth towards achieving a digital health system, which connects doctors and healthcare providers. Experts as well have said that people can manage their health and wellbeing in a secure private atmosphere using digital tools.
