The hunt for Covid-19 vaccine is underway on a war footing. But business magnate Elon Musk has a different view. Musk recently said that he will not be inoculated when the vaccine becomes available. According to Musk, he is not at the risk of being exposed to the deadly virus. Musk claimed that his kids are also not at risk for Covid. The billionaire is the father of seven children. He is 49. Musk is the founder of SpaceX. He has been critical of the government’s decision to impose sweeping lockdowns across the country to contain the spread of the virus. The philanthropist said that he has been working as normal even during the time of restrictions.
Musk underlined that his company SpaceX achieved a major milestone during the period of lockdown. The American Aerospace company had sent NASA astronauts to the International Space Station and back amid the pandemic. Musk also referred to the opening of a Tesla factory in California during the pandemic. He stoutly defended the decision which was in defiance of the lockdown rules. Tesla is an electric vehicle company. It is owned by Musk. It is based in Palo Alto of California. He said that enforcing lockdown in the whole country was not the right decision. According to him, people at higher risk from the disease should have been placed under quarantine.
About the public response to deal with the worst crisis the world is facing, Musk said that his faith in humanity diminished given the irrationality of the masses. The South African-born American entrepreneur had been critical of the administration’s strict restrictions on the movement of people due to coronavirus. He had in past too voiced against a nationwide restriction that left negative effects on economic activity. The United States is the worst-hit country in the world due to the virus that first originated from Wuhan city of China. Alone in the US, the virus has killed over 200,000 people in the last six month.
