Self-driving cars also known as driverless cars and autonomous cars, are the type of vehicles that drive itself without human driver onboard with the help of installed radar, cameras, artificial intelligence technology, and sensors. For the operation of self-driving cars, artificial intelligence technology is installed in the vehicle that uses systems such as artificial neural network and machine learning as well as image recognition system in order to build algorithms. It also identifies trees, signals, street signs, pedestrians, etc. for understanding the driving environment. Use of autonomous cars anticipated to avoid accidents caused due to human errors and mechanical issues. Autonomous cars can be used by individuals who can’t drive or do not know how to drive. These vehicles have more space than conventional vehicles. They can also be used for long journeys without causing stress to the driver. Speed limits can be controlled in the vehicle, making the journey safe for the passengers. In the case of self-aware cars can reduce car thefts.
