Workers of Western state Hospital are quite familiar with people with a mental health condition because it is one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in the state. However, since the coronavirus outbreak happened, patients who are suffering from mental illnesses also got affected because of it. So far, 34 patients from Western state Hospitals have been tested positive for coronavirus, but that’s not the worrying thing for the majority of the workers. Since many people have been tested positive for this deadly virus, the situation in the Hospital has changed drastically.

Now workers and other Hospital staff who are responsible for taking care of mentally ill patients are witnessing some strange things. Reports from this Hospital state that psychiatric wards have been emptying, from the last couple of days. Very few appointments are booked in the mental Hospital, and workers are feeling quite isolated. The majority of the cases which come into this Hospital are related to depression or suicide, and they are quite also important; however, the current coronavirus situation has affected the environment of the Hospital also.

As of now, 34 patients tested positive, and one died because of the coronavirus. Patients and staff are both afraid of the current situation since they have to face this pandemic strangely. One of the leading psychiatrists of the Hospital said that young patients are walking to the hospital halls without any mass and not following so many precautions which they are supposed to do. Elderly patients, on the other hand, are prone to the coronavirus because of which staff nurses need to take care of them extra.

Psychiatrists are saying that the situation is quite scary because patients and workers are both afraid. The situation in Public Hospitals in Mississippi and other states is also quite frightening, which states that mental hospitals are also facing a different kind of problem during the pandemic situation.
