It has already signed a contract with Amazon. Amazon will provide the support to Microsoft to launch Android apps on desktop via the Amazon App Store. Microsoft said that the Android apps will be installed locally. The apps will show up in the Start menu and Taskbar. It will not require a smartphone to function to access the apps. Microsoft will use Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 to power the apps. Users will be able to discover the apps in the Microsoft Store. Microsoft said that it has also launched a new Microsoft Store app. The store will act as an open storefront for Android apps on Windows.

Windows 11 is the next-gen desktop operating system by Microsoft. It will succeed Windows 10. The company will start rolling out the new OS this summer holidays. The OS will come with a free upgrade, meaning Windows 10 users can shift to the new OS for free. Starting January 1 next year, all new laptops will come with Windows 11. The company has emphasized security. Laptops will require a front-facing camera and that a resolution of High-Definition.
